About Magnetic Therapy

Magnetic Therapy is a safe, non-invasive method of applying magnetic fields to the body for therapeutic purposes. It helps speed the healing process and improves quality of sleep without any adverse side effects. Whether used independently or adjunct to your current treatment, magnet therapy is very effective for natural pain relief due to musculoskeletal injuries and chronic conditions, making it an excellent choice for anyone.

Over the centuries, it has been well documented that many cultures, including the ancient Chinese, Greeks, and Egyptians have applied magnets to relieve pain and other symptoms for over 4,000 years. However, the size and weight of the magnets existing during that time made them difficult to use. Today, smaller and stronger magnetic materials have led to the appearance of modern day magnetic therapy products used by people worldwide.

Since the 1960s, clinical studies in the U.S. have shown magnetic therapy to be an effective method for relieving pain and discomfort. Japan and many European countries have conducted hundreds of studies for over 30 years, and researchers continue to find that it provides tremendous benefits for a wide range of conditions.

In addition to static (permanent) magnets, Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy has undergone many scientific trials worldwide. Tens of thousands of patients have been treated successfully, experiencing a dramatic improvement of their quality of life. Fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, and depression are just some conditions that have been treated using PEMF.

How Magnetic Therapy Works

All physical and mental functions are controlled by electromagnetic fields produced by the movement of electro-chemicals (ions) within the body. When an injury occurs and tissue is damaged, positively charged ions move to the affected areas causing pain and swelling. In order for healing to take place, the injured site must be restored to its natural negative electromagnetic charge. Pain and inflammatory-related electro-chemicals must be removed and oxygen and nutrients transferred to the area.

The application of a magnetic field to an injured area helps restore the normal electronic balance. The magnetic pulse relaxes capillary walls, as well as surrounding muscle and connective tissues, allowing for increased blood flow. More oxygen and nutrients are transferred to the injury site, while pain and inflammatory-related electro-chemicals are more efficiently removed. The overall process restores the normal electromagnetic balance of the area, relieving pain and inflammation promoting accelerated healing.

Individual response time will vary, and can range from a few minutes to a few weeks. The effectiveness of magnetic therapy depends upon using the correct magnetic products, the length of time they are applied, and severity of the condition.

Magnetic therapy should not be used if you are wearing a pacemaker, defibrillator, or are pregnant.

How Magnetic Fields affect the Living Body

1) Increase blood flow with increased oxygen carrying capacity, both of which are basic to helping the body heal itself.

2) Change migration of calcium ions, which can bring calcium ions to heal a broken bone in half the usual time, or can help move calcium away from painful arthritic joints.

3) Alters the pH (acid/alkaline) of various body fluids (often out of balance in conjunction with illness or abnormal conditions).

4) Increase or decrease hormone production from the endocrine glands.

5) Alters enzyme activity and other biochemical processes.

How often should I wear the magnets?

At first, the magnets should be worn as often as possible. Everybody has a different body chemistry and for some it may take longer than others to feel the benefits. Once you become familiar with how your body responds to magnets, wear them when you feel or perform an activity that may cause discomfort.

How long does it take the magnets to work?

Each individual responds differently to magnetic therapy. In most cases the results are gradual. Some people see results within the first few days of wearing the products, while others may notice results after the first few weeks. Magnetic therapy may require patience.

What are the side effects?

No lasting adverse side effects have been observed with negative magnetic energy.

Precautions

Do not use magnets during pregnancy. Do not use with a pacemaker or defibrillator. Do not use magnets on abdomen for at least 90 minutes after meals. The use of magnets should not replace treatment from a qualified medical professional.

The magnetic materials sold by us are used in many different applications. We cannot guarantee them for use which is beyond our control. It is not a prescribed medical treatment and magnets should not replace the treatment provided by your physician. Any self-help application is the sole responsibility of the user.
